At Flame Tree Speech Pathology, we aim to empower each child to effectively communicate with confidence, helping them reach their full potential.
Our approach to Speech Therapy emphasises learning through play and engagement with others in a supportive environment.
We believe that collaboration is crucial in supporting young people and their families.
At Flame Tree Speech Pathology we offer support to children and their family to develop their communication skills. This includes the following areas:
How we produce sounds in words. Some speech sound difficulties include lisps, sound substitutions and Childhood Apraxia of Speech.
How we use words, sentences, and gestures to communicate our thoughts and ideas is crucial for effective interaction. This includes vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure.
How we understand what we hear and read is crucial. This includes understanding questions and instructions.
How we use language in social situations. This includes conversation skills, understanding body language and adapting our communication to different listeners.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) involves communicating in ways other than with speech. This includes visuals, communication boards, and speech generating devices.
Reading and writing skills are essential components of effective communication. This includes phonological awareness skills, as well as the ability to comprehend and construct single words, sentences, and paragraphs.
Stuttering involves the repetition of sounds and words, prolonging sounds, and experiencing blocks.

Flame Tree Speech Pathology provides a range of screeners and formal assessments in the areas of speech, language, literacy, and social communication.
